Hi, Welcome to Hard Thoughts. This blog is going to cover many interesting projects. The first of which will be to take this rolling server rack (see image below) and convert it into the ultimate entertainment machine.

I currently have a couple rack mount workstation cases that I will be building computers into.

My ultimate goal for this project is to build a computer for running live shows. The computer must be able to accomplish the following tasks:

1. Be able to output to various graphics card simultaniously.
2. Be able to control multiple incoming video  streams simultaniously.
3. Mediate between multiple audio inputs for live audio remastering.
4. Sync the audio with the video and podcast the show straight to the internet.
5. Have enough storage space to accommodate live HD video shoots.
6. Have an interactive monitor that is touch controlled.
7. Output to 9 or more projectors simultaneously.
8. Mass produce DVD’s or Audio CD’s.

Once I have this computer completed I plan to rent it out (with operator) for parties and shows.  Here is an example of my live video mixing.

I currently do live video mixing via laptops and I hope that this new computer can streamline the process.
